Postdoc Research At Alpha Genomics (Pvt) Limited

I am working as a Post-doctoral research fellow at Alpha Genomics (PVT) Limited, where my field of interest includes microbial genomics specifically related to fungi. My project includes fungal whole genome analysis, with the prime focus on secondary metabolite production I also deliver academic lectures and microbial lab demonstrations.

During my educational career I have gained experience in the field of applied microbiology. I have completed my PhD from Quaid-I-Azam University, Islamabad while focusing on secondary metabolite production by various indigenous microorganisms. My research was related to the production and application of statins from fungi. I had also worked in the school of science , Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University RMIT university, Australia. Here I have learned different techniques, such as flow cytometry, Bioassays development, fermentation and cloning. I have gained experience in the field of secondary metabolite productions from microorganisms with the command on various analytical techniques including mass spec analysis.

Teaching Experience And Highlights

Prior to my post doctoral position I had also worked as Assistant Professor in Department of Microbiology, Women University Multan. I have been teaching at various other reputable institutes of Islamabad including Quaid-I-Azam university and Abasyn University, where I have taught various courses of microbiology(Cell biology, Fundamental microbiology, Microbial Diversity, Animal Diversity, Microbial Metabolism) at graduate and post graduate levels. I have also gained international teaching experience at RMIT university , Australia for the course of microbiology.
